VMware Certified Professional (VCP) is considered a certification that would be designed to demonstrate technical competency with VMware vSphere and related technologies. For obtaining this certification, a candidate must take a VMware-authorized training course, either online or in-person, showing hands-on experience with VMware technologies; or passing the vSphere Foundations Exam, and an elective exam if he chooses for specializing in a specific technology track. As of March 10, 2014, VMware would be instated a recertification policy. VCP certifications are considered to be valid for two years. At this time, the candidate is required to retake the vSphere Foundations Exam and any relevant elective exam for remaining certified. Achieving this certification is quite challenging, and if you wish to obtain the VMware Certification, you will need the SPOTO VMware Exam Dumps to succeed in your first attempt.

Different VMware certification levels

VCP would be once the only VMware certification that would be offered. Still, it would now be part of a larger certification matrix, including the four specialized tracks and four certification levels.

Applicants could specialize in one of the following areas:

1. Data Center Virtualization (DCV): Demonstrating the ability for designing, installing, configuring, and managing VMware vSphere environments. Requires hands-on experience with vSphere as well as related technologies. Applicants are required to attend a mandatory training course and passing a VCP-DCV elective exam.

2. Network Virtualization (NV): Demonstrating the ability for designing, installing, configuring, and managing a VMware NSX environment. Requiring the hands-on experience with vSphere, NSX, as well as other related technologies. Applicants are required to attend a mandatory training course and passing a VCP-NV elective exam.

3. Cloud Management and Automation (CMA): Demonstrating the ability for installing, configuring, and optimizing public, private as well as hybrid clouds with the VMware vRealize Suite. Requiring the hands-on experience with vRealize, vSphere, and related technologies. Applicants are required to attend a mandatory training course and clearing a VCP-CMA elective exam.

4. Desktop and Mobility (DTM): Demonstrating the ability to install, configuring, and maintaining virtual applications and desktops with VMware Horizon Suite. Requiring the hands-on experience with Horizon, vSphere, and related technologies. Applicants are also required to attend a mandatory training course and clearing a VCP-DTM elective exam.

Benefits of becoming a VCP

VCP certification would be coming with several benefits from VMware, including access to official transcripts, free utilization of the VCP certification logo, invitations for beta exams, classes, a VMware digital badge, and discounted admission to VMware events and discounts from the VMware Press. VCDX certification comes with additional benefits, including membership to the vExpert community, opportunities for providing the specific feedback for product engineers, press release support, and a bio feature in the VCDX Directory.

How has obtaining VMware certification furthered your career?

VCP certification could help you out in improving the candidate's career prospects. Most companies that utilize the VMware virtualization software expect their technicians and administrators to be certified because certification is considered an easy way to verify a potential employee's abilities and prove those abilities to clients. Most VCP-certified individuals would find employment as systems administrators, systems engineers, or IT managers.

Certification can also lead potentially to increasing the salary. In 2017, wages for a VCP-certified IT manager could range between $55,000 and $120,000, while wages for a VCP-certified systems administrator could range between $49,000 and $95,000.
