Below mentioned are the steps to become a certified project manager:

We generally manage many projects on an intermittent basis in our daily work before getting access to professional project management. They find they will have a natural ability, and they wish to cultivate that capacity in ways that would benefit them professionally. A certification would demonstrate to current and potential employers you would be serious about making a career in project management.

Step 1 - Pick Which Certification You Want to Pursue

Some organizations provide project management certifications, however, the PMI’s the world’s premier professional organization for project managers.

Additionally to several specialized project management certifications, PMI would also provide two generalist certifications, the Project Management Professional, or shortly known as PMP, and the Certified Associate in Project Management, or shortly known as CAPM.

The PMP is considered to be the most common project management certification in the world. The CAPM is believed to be a lower-level certification for newer project managers who would likely pursue a PMP once they reach the PMP qualifications.

Step 2 - Becoming a PMI Member

Joining PMI would be giving you instant access to the latest edition of the Project Management Body of Knowledge Guide, or PMBOK Guide. This book would be considered the source material for questions on the PMP and CAPM exams. Paying the membership fee would also provide you discounts on other purchases, like the exam fee.

Step 3 - Scheduling Your Exam

Once you would be joining PMI, you must schedule your exam. Ensure choosing a date and time that provides you ample study time. This puts the correct amount of time pressure on you motivates your preparation. Exams should be taken in person, so you must pick a testing location that would be convenient for you.

Step 4 – Study is the Key

PMI exams aren’t going to be that much easy. You require studying the entire PMBOK Guide for passing the PMP or CAPM exam. Many people would be selected to take boot camp-style classes, like the SPOTO PMP Exam Dumps.

Step 5 - Taking the Exam

The exam would be the only part of the PMI certification process that couldn’t be done online. You could schedule your exam online, but you should appear in the person taking the exam. The test would be multiple choice as well as taken on a computer. The testing center would be verifying each test taker’s identity, and once you would complete the exam, you would have to go through a short survey. After the survey, you would gain knowledge of whether you have passed or failed. If you clear your test, your name would appear on PMI’s certification registry within 24 hours, and you would be receiving your certificate in the mail in one month.
